Excessive Sweating

Discreet, doctor-led assessment and treatment for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) — whether it affects the underarms, palms of the hands or soles of the feet.

About the treatment

Discreet,
medical care.

Hyperhidrosis can affect clothing choices, confidence, work and everyday comfort. A medical consultation helps determine whether treatment is suitable and whether another cause should be considered.

What is hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis describes sweating that is excessive for the body's temperature-regulation needs. It may affect several areas of the body, either alone or together.

Areas that may be considered

Treatment may be considered for excessive sweating affecting:

  • Underarms
  • Palms of the hands
  • Soles of the feet

The most suitable area or areas for you, along with the approach and any limitations, are discussed during your consultation.

Medical assessment

Your symptoms, medicines, health history and pattern of sweating are reviewed. Further medical assessment may be advised where sweating is new, generalised or associated with other symptoms.

How treatment works

Small injections can temporarily reduce signalling to sweat glands in the treated area. The expected onset, duration and limitations are discussed during consultation.

Practical aftercare

You will receive instructions about exercise, heat exposure, deodorant and when to contact the clinic if you have concerns.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How long does treatment for excessive underarm sweating last?

Treatment for excessive underarm sweating can significantly reduce perspiration in the treated area. Results usually develop within approximately two weeks and commonly last around 6–7 months, although individual results vary. There is minimal downtime, but temporary redness, tenderness or bruising may occur around the injection sites.

Can treatment happen at the consultation?

Where clinically appropriate, treatment may be possible on the same day. You will never be pressured to proceed, and may take time to consider the plan.

How are risks discussed?

Expected effects, limitations, alternatives and material risks are explained before consent, along with clear aftercare and contact guidance.
